of care is one of the cornerstones of our mission - a mission that could
not be accomplished without the many 'helping hands' of our volunteers.
Arbor Hospice has a dedicated volunteer force of over
300 caring individuals and we offer opportunities in just about every
area you can imagine. Whether you can give four hours a month or four
hours a day, we can use your help! Training Dates Ann Arbor Area September Volunteer Training All September training sessions will be held on consecutive Tuesdays and Thursdays and will be from 6:00pm-9:00pm. The dates are: September 9, September 11, September 16, September 18 and September 23. October Volunteer Training All October training sessions will be held on consecutive Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00am-12:00 noon. The dates are: October 13, October 15, October 20, October 22, and October 27. Both trainings will meet at The Residence of Arbor Hospice at 2366 Oak Valley Drive. To attend any trainings you must register and complete an application. Classes fill up quickly. Please call (734) 794-5396 or (734) 794-5128 or e-mail aavolunteers@arborhospice.org to register. Western Wayne County Volunteer training will be held in Northville on Tuesdays and Thursdays, October 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, with day sessions scheduled from 9 a.m. - 12 noon and evening sessions scheduled from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Training will meet at Arbor Hospice, 331 N. Center Street in Northville. To attend training, you must register and complete an application. Classes fill up quickly. Downriver Volunteer training will be held in Trenton on Monday, October 6, 13, 20, 27 and November 3rd from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The training sessions will be held in the Downriver office at 19145 Allen Road, Suite 110, Trenton 48183. Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities Opportunities include assisting patients in The Residence of Arbor Hospice, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or patients' home environments. In addition to direct patient care, a wide array of volunteer opportunities is available, including office assistance, fundraising, public speaking, crafting, grief support and much more.
